C-Day Mystery

Why would an all powerful God, Creator of a Universe with the immensity of ours, with the diversity present in every corner, be born a mere human?

Either it is a story we've been telling ourselves for millennia, or there's something else going on. Christmas Day entered our lives to celebrate joy, family, friends, a culture of giving, the warm of being present, but the true nature of it all is one big mystery.

Why would God became human?

Are we special in this universe?

I don't know.

With us the universe became self-conscious. It would be a waste, if having reaching so much, after dying, we went into nothingness. Some argue this period we're alive is rewarding enough. And achieving something with our conscious life is itself bearer of ultimate meaning. I understand that, but I'm not content. There must be something more. Something deeper.

If the birth of a child can change the world's culture in a profound and indefinite way, the mystery box such event holds is real. The product of mere imagination wouldn't go this far. Then, what's the mystery inside it? What's the hidden message in the event that changed the world and keeps changing?

Frailty. Simplicity. Innocence. Vulnerability. This is what the crude reality a child in a manger experiences. If this child is... God, this moment should say a lot about the meaning of the world and God. It is not power, domination, strength, intelligence, all that so many strive in the world to achieve, at great cost. That is not the real path to evolve. The world needed that path, but seeing how the world changed and celebrates the birth of a child, the message is there.

Frailty awakens compassion.

Simplicity generates beauty.

Innocence is a sign of truth.

Vulnerability strengthens relationships.

All these imply a cooperation allowing us to survive. Not competition.

These are paths to discover the most powerful force in the universe, moving it toward the future in unexpected ways.

Love.

Christmas Day, C-Day is a mystery of love. Love is at the core of the hidden forces moving this world toward the next steps in evolution. It brings the element of surprise into every moment we live. Turns life around in unthinkable ways. In love, we experience a greater freedom. Increases intelligence. Make us more connected, thus stronger.

We are capable of the greatest destruction imaginable, but a frail, simple, innocent and vulnerable act of love could change the course of the world's history. When I see the news of war, I think a significant part of humanity is distracted, blind, unaware of the true power that leads to achieve every purpose in life. What binds us makes us go beyond space and time into the joy of the unknown that history will reveal.

However, I wonder, even if I recognize C-Day as a mystery of love, the "why" remains in its depth a reality hiding something.

Maybe it is the true nature of mystery itself. I wonder.
